Swimming Audio Earbuds, Decathlon, Nabaiji

Nabaiji, Decathlon's swimming brand, develops innovative products designed to make swimming more accessible and enjoyable. The Swimming Audio Earbuds project explored the challenges of underwater audio, combining ergonomics, hydrodynamics and technical performance to create a comfortable and intuitive listening experience for beginner and intermediate swimmers.

Working alongside Nabaiji's electronics team, Max Erba Gubbins developed the industrial design of the earbuds and a new retention system to ensure a secure and comfortable fit during swimming. From user research and anthropometric studies to CAD development, CMF and supplier collaboration, the project brought together technical innovation and a simple, approachable design aligned with Nabaiji's visual identity.

Deliverables: User Research, Anthropometrics, Industrial Design, CAD, CMF & Supplier Collaboration.

Project developed by Max Erba Gubbins during his time working internally at Decathlon.
