Colabot Robots, Denso

DENSO is a global technology company specialising in automotive systems, industrial equipment and robotics. The Colabot project explored the potential of assistive robotics through a series of ten concepts, ranging from logistics and transportation to communication and everyday assistance. Built around a modular, battery-powered platform, the project aimed to make robotic technology more accessible and intuitive.

Working alongside DENSO's engineering team, Max Erba Gubbins developed the industrial design of Colabot Shop, an autonomous shopping assistant designed to help customers navigate stores, collect products and simplify the shopping experience. Particularly suited to elderly people and those with reduced mobility, the concept combined industrial design, CMF and digital interaction, leading to the development of a working prototype.
